INSIPIRING ACTIVE LIVING inspires active living and gives access to credible health and fitness resources and experiences all under one comprehensive platform. Introduced in 2017, the platform has established credibility, brand recognition, and loyalty from those who want to lead healthier lifestyles and those who are already active in the fitness and wellness space. Our vision is to inspire active living and make it easy for consumers in Sri Lanka to lead healthy lives and ultimately reduce the prevalence of non-communicable diseases. satisfies a real consumer need – i.e., provision of credible and up-to-date fitness and health-related information and resources all under one platform. Looking for active things to do can be a daunting task as it requires manual research or inquiry. Lack of access to the availability of information hinders the adoption of services due to a lack of consumer awareness. We aim to make activity hunts easier. Our users can find over 400 places, 250 class schedules, 70 activity types to choose from, events, and articles related to health and fitness – i.e., anything from healthy food outlets, yoga centers, hiking events, coaches, physiotherapists, and more. This digitization allows for efficient search that facilitates discovery.

Tools and features such as class schedules and booking facilities allow for streamlined and ubiquitous access to information that encourages behavioral adoption. Users are also able to find events and activity groups of similar interests that help form lifelong fitness companionships and habituations.

Vendors, users, and business partners can post events and other listings free-of-charge to disseminate their services to a broader audience. For advertisers and industry professionals, there is no dedicated digital platform promoting health and fitness products and services. Print magazines do not acquire the reach or availability that is necessary. The model works as a uniting platform that synergizes and connects different activities, platforms, media, and professionals, and is a go-to place for resources on how to stay fit to counteract the effects of sedentary living.

Over 3,500 quarterly print magazines are distributed across 140 outlets to consumers free-of-charge to facilitate information on healthy living. A digital copy is also made available on the website. The medium utilizes QR codes to engage users innovatively and to connect to digital video content via the print media. The social media sites focus on holistic health and fitness goals and provide inspirational video content from industry professionals to inspire active living. The importance of diet, nutrition, exercise, preventative measures, the effects of sedentary living, and expert opinions are some of the topics covered. Industry benchmarks and local innovations, success stories are acknowledged and highlighted as well. Seminars and workshops on practical issues such as the consequences of sedentary lifestyles, self-defense, alternative health, injury prevention that are valuable for an everyday living have been presented periodically over the last year to our audience. Promotes innovative and trending activities such as Parkour, skating, calisthenics to engage the youth audience; established practices such as Yoga and dance are focused among older age groups – thereby tapping into the needs and interests of all segments of society.

We ensure to provide unbiased, credible, transparent, and free information to the end-user and actively discourage marketing and advertising that is unhealthy or detrimental to the health and wellbeing of our users. We ensure ethical marketing in an industry ripe with false, misleading, or fraudulent business practices. in future plans to independently assess organizations and professionals in the industry and provide means for accreditation that will protect and benefit the discerning end consumer. Hence, aims to uplift industry standards and become a catalyst for positive growth across the segment in the long run.

Given that exercise helps prevent cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, obesity, diabetes, and some cancers, we feel our media does not carry effective means of addressing preventative measures or behavioral change that is necessary among our community. Hence, it has given us reason to have developed a platform that reaches a broader audience and addresses the present healthcare requirements of society. As a tech startup that promotes health and fitness, we believe in the importance of reaching out to a broader public with tools and techniques that effectively and innovatively make changes in lifestyles. We consider it an opportunity to address at least part of the problem that is burdening our nation.
