Certitude by K, a conscious fashion and lifestyle brand known for its commitment to sustainability and ethical design, has announced the upcoming launch of The Loom by Certitude, Sri Lanka’s first all-in-one sustainable fashion co-creation studio, conscious stay, artisanal boutique, and creative café, opening in Dambulla in the second week of January 2026.
Designed as a transformative sustainable lifestyle destination, The Loom brings together upcycling, craftsmanship, creative collaboration, and mindful living under one immersive concept. The space features five artistically designed boutique B&B rooms, a sustainable retail showroom showcasing upcycled and handmade products, a co-creation studio for workshops and collaborative product development, and a small artistic café celebrating locally inspired food and creativity. The concept is also complemented by monthly cultural events, wellness retreats, and curated creative experiences.
Speaking on the vision behind the project, The Loom by Certitude Co-Founder Kanchana Fernando stated, “The Loom was created to bridge sustainability with everyday living in a meaningful and accessible way. We envisioned a space where travellers, designers, and artisans can come together to create, learn, and experience conscious living first-hand. This is not just a destination, it is a movement towards thoughtful design, creative tourism, and artisan empowerment.”
The Loom will offer immersive creative getaways and workshops, including upcycled fashion, batik and natural dye techniques, creative art and painting sessions, yoga and mindfulness, traditional Sri Lankan cooking experiences, and upcycled art creation, positioning Dambulla as a new creative tourism hub in Sri Lanka.
In keeping with its values of openness and mindful hospitality, The Loom is designed as a welcoming, inclusive space that embraces diverse travellers and creative communities, ensuring a space where everyone feels at ease and inspired.
Certitude by K combines artistry with sustainability, offering customers an opportunity to make eco-conscious choices without sacrificing style. The brand was created by Kanchana Fernando as an innovative solution of upcycling old clothes with unique Batik designs, breathing new life into discarded textiles and turning waste into wearable art, thereby growing into a business model committed to the principles of a circular economy. Driven by a passion for sustainability and community empowerment, she built a brand that uplifts underprivileged and underrepresented voices, especially women artisans in Sri Lanka. The brand’s strong mission has continued to make a global impact and it has also been showcased at the New York Fashion Week. Looking ahead, Certitude by K plans to expand the Loom concept through rooftop café developments, artisan residency programs, international upcycling retreats, and by replicating the model across Sri Lanka. The brand also aims to introduce the next Loom destination internationally, beginning with Canada, reinforcing its global vision for conscious design and sustainable living.
