On 18 February 2026, Imperial College of Business Studies proudly hosted the SQA Graduation Ceremony together with Colours Night 2026 at the Centre for Banking Studies, bringing together students, parents, faculty, and distinguished guests for an evening that celebrated both academic excellence and sporting achievement.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone as more than 100 graduates were formally conferred with their qualifications. In addition, over 70 students were recognised for their outstanding performances in sports during the 2024 and 2025 season, reflecting the institution’s strong emphasis on holistic development.
The event was graced by Miss Margaret Curran, International Regional Manager South Asia of the Scottish Qualifications Authority, who attended as the Chief Guest. Her presence reinforced ICBS’ longstanding international partnerships and its commitment to delivering globally recognised qualifications that open doors for students both locally and internationally.
Also in attendance were Dean of ICBS, Dr. M. Ganeshamoorthy, and Deputy Dean of ICBS, Dr. Royston Cumine. They were joined by Academic Director Imperial College of Business Studies, Mr. Pravinth Rajaratnam; Director Strategic Initiatives, Mr. Shanmugam Sivabaskaran; and Director Strategy and Operations, Mr. Chinthaka Wijerathna. Students who represented ICBS in Cricket, Rugby, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Swimming, and Athletics were presented with awards in recognition of their commitment, discipline, and teamwork.
Graduates who successfully completed the International Foundation Certificate in Business at Level 06 and the International Specialized Diploma in Business Management in International Business, Marketing Management, and Human Resource Management were formally awarded during the ceremony. These qualifications reflect ICBS’ focus on equipping students with both academic knowledge and practical skills that meet the demands of the modern business environment.
With a proud legacy dating back to 1985, ICBS has evolved from a pioneer in CIMA education to one of Sri Lanka’s leading business schools. Today, the institution offers undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland and Queen Margaret University, alongside professional programmes including CIMA, SQA, and ACCA.
The SQA Graduation and Award Ceremony 2026 stood as a testament to ICBS’ commitment to academic excellence, character building, and student success. For parents considering higher education pathways for their children, the evening highlighted an environment where international standards, personal growth, and achievement across academics and sports come together to shape confident and capable future leaders.
