The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Sri Lanka (CILT SL), the country’s leading professional body for logistics, supply chain, and transport, has been selected to host the CILT International Convention 2025, the flagship global event of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. This prestigious gathering will take place from 14–17 September 2025 at Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams, Colombo, under the theme “Future Ready Logistics: Embracing Change and Driving Sustainability.”
The convention is a landmark event in the global logistics and transport calendar, attracting over 150 delegates from more than 30 countries, including government officials, diplomats, global industry leaders, academics, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all modes of transport and supply chain disciplines. The four-day programme will feature keynote speeches from world-renowned experts, interactive workshops, and panel discussions exploring the latest trends, innovations, and challenges shaping the industry. Delegates will also enjoy valuable networking opportunities and attend the prestigious CILT Awards ceremony, which recognizes excellence in the profession. Cultural tours and experiences will showcase Sri Lanka’s rich heritage, further enhancing the event’s impact on tourism and related industries.
CILT SL President Chandima Hulangamuwa described hosting the convention as “a significant milestone for Sri Lanka and the global logistics community.” He noted that the event will explore advances in technology, supply chain strategies, circularity, and sustainability—critical themes in an interconnected, complex world. “With global delegates representing every facet of the industry, it will be an invaluable platform for exchanging knowledge, sharing innovations, and positioning Sri Lanka as a competitive logistics hub in the South Asian and Indian Ocean regions,” he added.
Convention Chairperson Gayathri Karunanayake emphasized the event’s focus on digitalization, sustainability, and resilience. “In an era shaped by shifting economic powers, pandemics, geopolitical tensions, climate change, and rapid technological advancement, adaptability and innovation are key differentiators,” she said. Bringing together local professionals and over a hundred foreign delegates from every continent, the convention aims to inspire transformative thinking, share best practices, and foster collaborations that will help industries thrive in the evolving global landscape.
