AIESEC In Sri Lanka is set to launch SheRise 2026, a national CSR initiative aimed at empowering women through entrepreneurship, with a special focus on women from rural communities across Sri Lanka.
The initiative will take place on 8 March 2026 at the Pallewela National School, bringing together aspiring female entrepreneurs, youth leaders, and industry professionals to participate in a series of training sessions designed to strengthen entrepreneurial capacity.
SheRise 2026 forms the third phase of the broader EmpowerAll initiative organized by AIESEC in Sri Lanka, powered by Emerald. The project aims to equip women with practical knowledge and tools required to start and grow their own businesses through structured learning sessions covering entrepreneurial mindset development, financial management, marketing strategies, and sales skills.
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in experience-sharing sessions led by established entrepreneurs, offering practical insights on navigating the challenges of starting and sustaining a business. These interactions are intended to inspire participants and provide real-world guidance on entering and thriving in the entrepreneurial landscape.
Through initiatives such as SheRise 2026, AIESEC in Sri Lanka seeks to strengthen economic participation among women while fostering confidence, independence, and long-term community development. By focusing on women in rural areas, the program aims to address barriers to opportunity and create pathways for sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship.
Founded in the aftermath of World War II, AIESEC was established to promote peace and unity through cross-cultural youth exchanges and leadership development. Today, the organization operates in over 120 countries and territories worldwide.
Established in 1995, AIESEC in Sri Lanka continues this mission locally as a youth-led leadership development organization committed to fostering unity, cultural understanding, and leadership among Sri Lankan youth through impactful initiatives and global exchange opportunities.
With SheRise 2026, the organization reaffirms its commitment to building inclusive opportunities and empowering communities by supporting women to unlock their potential and actively participate in the country’s economic growth.
