Sri Lankan heavy metal pioneers Stigmata is making preparations to conduct the final concert in the country of their year-long 25th Anniversary celebrations. Titled “Monster’s Ball”, the event will be held on Friday, 31st October at the Main Sports Bar and Restaurant – Havelock City Mall.
Their final gig of a year of unforgettable on-stage performances will feature the renowned Hela Metal band Springfield taking the stage alongside Stigmata for the very first time. Known for their powerful performances and unique sound, Springfield has been a strong presence in the local music scene and is set to release their highly-anticipated full-length hard rock album in the coming weeks. For the first time, Stigmata will also feature emerging Tamil rock band Shabdhara who will present a special acoustic set. These collaborations bring together for the first time in Sri Lankan history rock bands of all three languages together on one stage! The event promises to deliver a dynamic blend of styles and sounds. The concert will also feature a special guest violinist performing alongside the band for select tracks, as well as dynamic dance performances, adding a new visual dimension to the musical experience.
One of the key highlights of the night would be the unveiling of the official music video for “Archetype”, conceived by Bad Mojo, a creative agency that specializes in AI-driven creative solutions, giving the audience a first look at this groundbreaking artistic fusion. “Archetype” as well as the singles “The Absurd”, ‘Inertia: Vae Invictus, and the smash anthem “Trigger” are taken from the band’s upcoming fifth studio album, due to be released in 2026.
In keeping with the festive season, Monster’s Ball will take on a Halloween theme, and fans are encouraged to attend in their favourite costumes. The evening will also include exciting giveaways and interactive segments to engage the audience throughout the night.
Stigmata’s frontman Suresh de Silva stated, “The upcoming gig is the final concert of Stigmata’s Silver Jubilee celebrations in Sri Lanka, bringing an extraordinary year of concerts organized and staged by us to an unforgettable close. We are excited about this lineup of two new bands who I am sure will add a new dimension to the gig. Once again, we are back at the Main Sports Bar and Restaurant, a spacious and family-friendly venue offering comfortable seating and ample parking facilities – the perfect setting for a night of high-energy music and celebration.”
Following this concert, Stigmata is scheduled to tour Bangladesh in November, followed by a return to Dubai in December to perform at Desert Inferno XL – where they successfully performed two gigs last year. In early 2026, the band plans to return to Sri Lanka and embark on additional international tours, while continuing work on their fifth studio album, set for release some time next year.
