Cage Rage, the biggest MMA event and organization in Sri Lanka, brought the year 2025 to a close with another adrenaline-charged night of ‘Cage Rage powered by Birds Resort Hambantota’ at the Royal-MAS Arena recently.
The electrifying fight night kept fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The Main Event featured Sri Lanka’s Dulaj taking on Pakistan’s Amanullah, a highly experienced MMA campaigner. Dulaj emerged victorious in a result that highlighted the steady rise of Sri Lankan MMA, with local fighters now competing and winning against seasoned international opposition. The outcome reflected the impact of regular, high-level competition made possible through platforms such as Cage Rage.
The Co-Main Event witnessed Sri Lanka’s Arshan face off against Francis of Great Britain, further highlighting Cage Rage’s growing international reputation for world-class MMA battles. Another standout international bout saw Jordon of Sri Lanka face Ammaar of the Maldives, marking yet another major moment for regional MMA representation. The night featured a powerful lineup of local and international talent including Sandika vs Pasindu, Zain vs Asher, Sanjula vs Sahan, Randul vs Ashen, Meshak vs Bubsy, and Dilukshan vs Dhananjaya.
In just two years, Cage Rage has evolved from a bold vision into Sri Lanka’s undisputed market leader in MMA sports entertainment. With successful events in 2024 alone and a digital reach exceeding 700,000+, the promotion continues to push MMA into the mainstream. Celebrity endorsements, DJ performances, fighter-focused storytelling, and improved athlete payouts have helped build a fiercely loyal and fast-growing fan base.
Sharing his views on another successful event, Cage Rage Founder Dhiren Mapagunaratne stated, “What excites us most is that fighters from Maldives, United Kingdom, Norway, Pakistan, and India personally reached out to Cage Rage to compete in Sri Lanka. That speaks volumes about the credibility and standard we are building. This is a major step not just for Cage Rage, but for Sri Lankan MMA as a whole. Our vision is to position Sri Lanka as a respected hub for international combat sports — where global talent comes to compete, and local fighters rise on a world-class stage. This is the first time in Sri Lanka where an MMA promotion brought down fighters to participate for MMA in Sri Lanka.”
This final Cage Rage event of the year was once again powered by Birds Resort Hambantota, Sri Lanka’s first luxury aviary resort located inside South Asia’s largest bird park as the Main Sponsor. Cage rage’s official video production partner is Eleventh Mission (Production Partner), Treehouse at Morven Colombo (Valued Gold Sponsor), Nawaloka Hospital (Medical Partner), together with Supporting Sponsor Homelands – Sri Lanka’s leading real estate company.
